Paula Birnie

Resident in Titahi Bay since 1997 and married with two boys, Paula has an extensive background in hairdressing, make-up and wardrobe styling. She holds additional qualifications in adult teaching, workplace/tutor assessment and design of assessment material to NZQA standard and is an experienced workshop facilitator.

Paula is a freelance writer, and in the past has produced her own popular monthly fashion column 'Style Envy' for the local Kapi Mana newspaper, with a weekly reach of over 26,000 households from Tawa to Pukerua Bay.

Paula is a volunteer for the Supergrans Charitable Trust, providing mentoring for local clients in home management and basic cooking skills as well as advocacy.More recently Paula has utilised her accomplished writing skills to develop a home management resource to empower both volunteers and clients alike.

Due to Paula's diverse work history, she has an eclectic range of skills and connections in the wider community. For this reason, she has been assigned the role of Trust & Community Liaison to develop key relationships between the Trust and the community. Part of this role has included the set up of the Trust and relevant documents to meet our legal obligations as a registered Charity.
