Events and Activity

Community Connect

A community get-together to connect over topics you care about. They bring together Porirua City Councillors, local organisations and people from our neighbourhood. Each event offers a short time to share 'whats happening' for you and the people you represent (whānau, neighbours, iwi, council etc), and a themed information session.

They are held every month or so on the second Wednesday of the month, 7-8pm.  We are grateful to Porirua City Council for sponsoring these events by providing access to Tireti Hall to host these events.

Check the community noticeboard in Titahi Bay Village or Titahi Bay Community Group Facebook for details. There is no need to RSVP.

If you'd like to share a skill or connect with your community over a common interest get in touch with us at titahibaycommunitygroup@gmail.com.

Previous Activity

Titahi Bay Village Plan - this committee sub-group made significant progress for Titahi Bay by working in collaboration with the Porirua City Council to develop and implement the Titahi Bay Village Plan 2014 for local amenities.

The plan was the result of substantial consultation with residents and identified the things that residents like about the Bay and noted areas where action might be needed. It fed into priority setting by the Porirua City Council.

Although the plan has now expired and the Village Planning initiative is no longer supported by Porirua City Council, the 2014 document provides great insight into our community at that time.

Emergency Management Titahi Bay

This group liased with emergency management organisations to raise emergency awareness and preparedness within the community.

Beach Festival

Titahi Bay Beach Festival was a one-day event held at the northern end of the beach.  This popular festival has been held a number of years during summer featuring music, stalls, food trucks, kid's activities, demonstrations, and activities.

There is currently no date set for another festival. If you would like to see this event back message the beach festival Facebook to find out how you can help make it happen.

Community Patrols

Set up and managed Community Patrols for safety in Titahi Bay.

Titahi Bay Community Trust

This website continues the work done by the Titahi Bay Community Trust, who initially created this website. The Trust (Registered Charity CC48197) was established in 2010 to raise awareness of civil defence in Titahi Bay, and to supply and/or supplement civil defence resources in the area. The Trust was wound up in 2016, and since then the Titahi Bay Community Group has maintained the website.

If you would like to get in behind, or reactivate, any of these hard working groups get in touch with them directly or send us an email at titahibaycommunitygroup@gmail.com.
